I started my writing journey in 2024 because we need more education on Sikhism, especially for younger kids. Sometimes, kids just don’t have the words to explain what “that thing on their head” is. I have come across many situations where young Sikh children are bullied for covering their hair, and this bullying often stems from a lack of knowledge. So, I decided to write a book about patkas. Short, sweet, and simple, it’s about a young boy who is explaining the head coverings that his family wears.
